Australian universities have a range of research strengths which have been analysed as part of the ERA evaluation of research excellence. The following table breaks down the Australian university research rankings by 'Field of Research' to allow for an examination and comparison of how well each of the universities has performed within the individual fields. It should be noted however that not all universities are concerned with developing research excellence, or developing research excellence across a range of fields, and might be more focused on vocationally oriented outcomes.
