International Student Tuition Fees
International student tuition fees at Australian universities vary greatly depending on the particular university. The figures presented in the table show the overseas student fees can be more than double at one university rather than another. It is significant that the more expensive universities tend to be those which appear higher up in the various ranking categories, while the less expensive options generally appear further down.
Another associated feature uncovered in the table is that the cheapest universities for international students tend to be regional while the more expensive are based in the large capitals. This has a number of implications for overseas students, including how there can also be considerable cost of living savings living in a regional area compared to say Sydney, although this comes with fewer opportunities to find part-time employment.
Tuition fees can also be adjusted by the application of international student scholarships which basically work as a fees discount. These fee discount / scholarships can depend on the demand there is for particular courses and how desperate the university is to attract new students. An evaluation of the best universities for international students in Australia must therefore include an assessment based on a number of different aspects such as cost and location.
